Should Parents "Spy" on Their Teenager ? (by Rainbowbutterfly)

Part of being a parent is being a good ninja. You must know what is going on in thier life, who the friends are and what is going on. If the child demonstrates good judgement then you know you have done well. If they do not, then you know you must act but it is best to do this in as indirect way as possible.(at least in the 13plus years) Whatever you do dont get caught spying because resentment will ensue. The only caveat to that is if they are messing with hardcore drugs, joining a gang ect. ect. Just my opinion,it has worked for me so far.
Well said....This is what I did to my teenagers back then.(I did came across some wrongdoings, so as a parent I automatically put them under my parental analysis so i was a step ahead to try and prevent any pitfalls in an indirect way) It wasnt easy but I did my best.My children are young adults now.
