So what is your opinion on the right to die? (by Acire73)
Just because we have the technology, should we prolong the lives of our loved ones or let them go? Im talkin about when the quality of life is nil
I worked in a few nursing homes n there is nothing worst 2 me then seeing ppl suffer. This woman was on hospice 4 a few months n the last 2 wks she just laid in bed dying. No food or drink for 9 days untill she finally went. There was another woman who she had lost her mind n her moter skills n just laid there screaming all day. No one vists these ppl. They put them in places like that n leaves them 2 die. U can see the pain in their face n the heart break when they say they wish they would just die.
I say let them go. We had to make this decission for my grandmother and its not fair to make them suffer.
Its hard not to be selfish in these situations, trust me, i been there. But if u truely love them u have to find it within ur heart to let them go. U do whats best for them not whats best for u. I cant imagine putting my loved one in a home & jus walking away. I put my daddy in a home so they could attend to his medical need. But i visited 4-5 a week, went to ALL doctors appointments, and even had a private phone installed in his room so we could talk anytime we wanted. I loved my daddy and would of done anything for him
Technology is for making life better and if technology degrades the very life then whats the point in prolonging their agony . its better to let them go with dignity .
I wish more people felt as this forum so far. My clients are all retarded so no dnr or living will and its very frustrating to fight to keep them breathing as ur job when inside u pray for them to go to their maker
