My fianc?(27M) lied to me(26F) about where he was, we?re getting married in 2 months

We?ve been together 8 years, engaged for 1. We have two kids together, own a home and a rental property. He is a lead contractor, so they travel throughout the state on commercial and residential jobs. We?re eloping in two months, so I?m doing a ton of wedding planning lately. I scheduled a wedding dress appointment yesterday for 6pm. On Fridays he usually gets done at 12 so I sent him a text letting him know I scheduled this appt. He texted back a thumbs up. Then a few hours later, he asks if I can meet him in the city(we live 30 min away) to trade off the kids since he was going to be working later I said sure meet me at the bridal shop. Then I wondered where he was working in the state that he was working so late on a Friday. Do they have a long drive home and just lost track of time? So I text him:
me: ?Where are you?? him: ?Work?? me: ?Yes, but where? he?s typing for 2 minutes him: ?Residential job??
He?s typing out another text. I?m assuming to tell me what city/town he?s in. He?s typing, then stopping, then typing again. What is he doing? So I say:
?Umm..?? him: ?I can?t spell it and Siri autocorrect is not working?
So now I?m like uhh what the hell why is he being weird? So I say:
?What?s going on?? ?What do you mean? I?m trying to finish the job?
Then I call him. I hear a TV in the background. I?m asking him where he is, he keeps saying work, I?m like ok then just tell me where you are, I don?t understand why you don?t want to tell me. He says I?m being ridiculous yet he keeps not answering my question. We were on the phone for 8 minutes during which I was trying to facetime him and he was declining the facetimes. At this point I?m feeling panicky?I?m wondering if he?s cheating on me. So I ask him, he gets angry and then tries to flip the conversation to ?I can?t believe you would even think that, I can?t believe this!? Yet he still has not told me where he is or what he?s doing.
Finally, he says he?s at his coworkers house playing cornhole. I?m like umm ok fine but why did you lie? We?ve been together 8 years, why wouldn?t he just tell me he?s with his friends? I told him he?s acting suspicious and to send a picture. He did and he was in fact with his coworkers but what the hell?
He apologized via text and told me that he feels like I hate when he hangs out with friends, I didn?t respond. I don?t really understand this because he made plans to grab drinks/dinner with a friend on Wednesday and I was totally fine, in fact I told him I thought that would be nice since they haven?t seen each other a ton since we moved out of the city.
I thought we had a trusting relationship so I?m honestly just baffled about the whole thing. What am I doing wrong that he doesn?t feel like he can tell me the truth? We haven?t spoken since he came home last night. I cancelled my dress appointment right after our phone call because I just didn?t feel right going. Shouldn?t married couples be honest with each other? This whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth. I want us to have an honest line of communication and I don?t know what else I need to do to make that happen.
