Men who date multiple women briefly or prefer casual sexual relationships, how do you forego emotional support?

I am wondering because most women would be okay with casual hooking up, except that they like to cuddle and have someone to talk through their problems with (on demand), and have someone there for them during difficult times. However, if they do that with a man they are in a casual relationship with, likely that man won't really fully help or will find that to be relationship behavior, so during a casual relationship that emotional support is not available to women.
Do men not need that?
(asking in general as I've had a boyfriend for years).
