Something has been following my car for 3 hours now

It’s been 3 hours since he started following my car. I have no idea how he’s still keeping up with me. The gas pedal is on the floor and it’s still following.
About a week ago my car broke. Something to do with the rev limiter malfunctioning. To make a long story short, my engine exploded. I was fine, but my car was toast. Later that week I found a craigslist ad. A 2000 Hyundai Elantra for just 200$. Apparently it was so cheap because the owner committed suicide inside of it. It was only a couple of miles away from where I live, so hey, why not?
I had a friend drop me off there. I knew something was off about the place as I got out. The grass looked like it hadn’t been cut for some time. The front porch was littered with junk and other nick-nacky type stuff. The empty beer bottles shined like burgundy Christmas lights in the winter sun.
I approached the door with the greatest haste, however a woman answered the door before I could knock it, almost as if she had been expecting me. She looked just as messy as the home she resided in. Her hair was unkempt and caked with dirt, her eyes were baggy as if she hadn’t slept in days. She asked me what I was doing at her door. “I, uh, I’m here for the carâ€, I replied. “Ok,†she said, “it’s in the garage, follow me.â€
I really did not want to follow her to wherever she was taking me. Was she going to stab me? Abduct me into some kind of cult? My heart and mind were racing at this point. Sure enough, behind the home was a garage, the door caked in rust. We went to it and she opened the door. Inside was the pristine Hyundai. It looked... too perfect. Her home was almost decrepit, the garage was in disrepair, and yet the car looked immaculate.
I gave her the money and went in my way in my new car. In the rear view mirror I saw the woman, staring at me from her driveway. Her smile was almost too wide. Did my 200$ really mean that much to her? I drove out of the neighborhood onto the main road. It was then that I noticed... him.
He was going at a slow jogging pace at first. I thought he was just some other jogger. But then, he got faster. And faster. And faster still. I was the only person on the road, seeing as this is a small country town and rush hour had just ended. He had been running after me for 10 minutes. His eyes were set on... my car. It was at this point that I noticed the note hanging out of the passenger side visor, so I took it out and read it. What it said made me step on the gas and speed down the road with no regard for the speed limit:
DON’T LET HIM CATCH UP
IF YOU DO, YOU’LL WISH YOU COULD BE DEAD
I sped as fast as I could for hours, but he kept getting faster. I passed a lake, and he walked over it as thought it was nothing. I passed through a populated neighborhood and he just jumped from roof to roof with inhuman agility. 1 hour. 2 hours. 3 hours. He never slowed down.
I’m writing this from my back seat. My car ran out of gas 10 minutes ago, and the car battery is dead too. I’m praying it can’t see me. I heard it’s cries of anger. It’s trying to break the sunroof now.
I know now why the woman wanted to be rid of this car.
