I just ended my relationship of almost 2 years because he kept putting his best friend before me and I am devestated

I (33f) have been dating a 38m for almost 2 years (with one break in there). I’ll make this as short as possible - my bf’s best friend, Bob, always comes before me. The past two weeks I’ve been having a really hard time at work and three times I asked my boyfriend to come over to comfort me and all three times he said he would come over when he was done hanging out with Bob (which would usually be around 2am)
Bob is a stay at home dad with 2 kids, so he often guilt trips my bf if he won’t hang out with him. Since our relationship has become more serious, I’ve seen texts where Bob gives my bf a hard time about the amount of time we spend together. My bf is trying to make a career change and Bob also gives him a hard time about the time he is spending training for it.
My bf showed me a text from bob....that was a “joke†that said “I hope you fail at everything in life so I can have you all to myself againâ€. Joke or not....that’s messed up.
My bf and I had our break up yesterday and a large part of the convo revolves around how I don’t think bob is a good influence on him. I told him that any friend should be happy he found a great girl and that you are moving forward with your career. I tried to explain that this is natural life progression, as a relationship becomes more serious, you end up spending less time with friends because you have family obligations. We didn’t say we officially broke up but he did say he doesn’t want to be in a relationship right now so that’s pretty clear.
I’m honestly lost and devastated and I miss him. Just not getting my usual good morning text made me cry on the way to work. The best thing I can think of is going no contact and maybe have another talk at a later date. Please be kind in your responses
Update: He reached out to me and asked if we could get together and talk. I know everyone immediately jumps to “break up†but I do want to atleast have a conversation to see if we could work on this/compromise. I’m not the best communicator...any advice on how to get my point across?
TL;DR - I ended my relationship of 2 years because of my BFs manipulative friend and my heart is broken
