How do I attract women and not men?

I have a weird problem of somehow attracting (gay) men, but struggling with women. I try to be friendly with everyone, but I often seem to end up around gay guys. I don't have a problem talking with them, but when I start getting asked for my number it gets awkward. On the flip side, I rarely have much luck with women and get stuck in the friend zone.
Has anyone else had this problem? Tips?
