Askmen, my Mother is dying. How do you all keep it together? (by Sparky)
Askmen, my Mother is dying. How do you all keep it together?
So, we thought my mother had more time but her cancer is growing much more aggressively than we thought. Her liver functions are compromised and it is growing very rapidly(we are talking like significant growth in two weeks). They are meeting on monday to see if there is anything that can be done at this point but from whatever I hear things are not likely.
In the past I always had an SO to rely on. I dont really have any local friends who I am close enough with at this point to turn to.
I already went through my drinking and eating phase. I plan to get super focused on getting back in shape and working out to help distract myself. I am also going to work extra hard at work so that I can get things done in advance so when the inevitable happens I have the space to zombie it up for a week or two.
So askmen? Any advice on keeping it together?
