I've been writing poetry since I was really young but I have never let anyone read any. I'm really not confident in my abilities so I thought I'd share one of my short ones and ask for feed back, this is the first time ever so don't rip me to shreds. It hasn't got a title. Here goes:


Even in that distant land, you're not here, I hold your hand
Even when the cold wind bites, you're not here, yet in my sights
Even in that eerie silence, you're not here, we both face violence
Even when the darkness gains, you're not here, yet feel my pains
And even when I reach the end.
You were here. My love, my friend.

Whoa, seriously good, i was just like you vamp before i joined i hadnt written a poem in 13 years, now im writing them left, right and center lol

I started when I was about 12 and have tons but just haven't wanted to share it with anyone before. Some of it is pretty harrowing and I won't ever tell them to anyone though.

@VampDoll: don't worry, only share what you want to share, but thank you for sharing this one

Thank you for deciding to share your work with us! I enjoyed reading it. You know, a few years ago one of my professors told me to never down yourself/your work before presenting it. Just put it out there and let the audience decide for themselves. You are your own worst critic. Just write for yourself, not thinking about whether or not people will like it.
