Ferguson Decision Megathread. (by Sparky)

I've been saying something similar to this pastor for a few years! I've studied African-American history and the Black Civil Rights movement.

The issue is not with racism or reverse racism...it's with Black on Black crime and the economic, social and cultural pitfalls that more and more black folks CHOOSE to fall into. Yes, some of it dates back to the days of our grandfathers...the time when black men were basically recruited to leave their families to go to Detroit or other skilled labor forces...what does that leave? Single moms. There goes the cycle...

Michael Brown was not in a single parent home...I know, I'm just saying this lifestyle is an issue in low-income black communities. Slave mentality or just don't work, take what's not yours to begin with, father the fatherless babies, and **** the police.

I'm not saying there is not a race/racism issue in this great United States of America . Talk to people that have been to Missouri. It's still segregated in many parts. I wish that the ISSUES had been highlighted by REAL REPORTERS and not this isolated incident. But, I digress...

My first n only post here if you're a suspect in a strongarm robbery, you're not following the instructions of a public safety officer, and you charge him as well? Hell, I'd put two in your skull and not even blink.

@BigPapaRedneck: I'm sick of the excuses made for people behaving badly. This has been going on since August & spreading across the country. For NO RATIONAL REASON.. But to blame others & entertain themselves with mayham.

I disagree...somewhat. This whole situation got way out of hand. People made horrible, dispicable choices. But, there are reasons why that community responded the way they did and why the media spotlighted what they did. I don't and won't make excuses, but there are reasons.

I wish that the news was used to teach and inform. Not feed into the madness, for ratings.

@SweetNothings:
If you think Ferguson as an entire town is out of hand as far as a crime wave, rioting, violence & destruction (which has now spread to other states) then that we agree on.

But I will never agree or except excuses, reasons, or rationale for their(town's people) animalistic behavior. And then to blame it on raciest injustice?

And for so called black leaders to involve themselves & instigate... That is almost as bad as our (semi-black) President injecting himself, (on yet another so called 'race case'- that wasn't). No one can convince me that these so called leaders didn't do it for(media) attention & their own political & financial agenda.

If any of these so called leaders actually cared they would of been in the town & on everyone's ass to motivate them & lift their spirts PRIOR to the chaos.

The town people are solely responsible for their behavior & have to educate & CHANGE themselves.

@Zilya777: Sure, we are all definitely responsible for our own behavior. But, there is a cycle in those areas that can't and won't change unless the root of the problem(s) is addressed. It's not racial injustice. It's the communities and those like it being segregated, poorly educated, improperly raised, uninformed, underrepresented, etc...and yes...alot of it is their doing...but there's more to it than that.

I won't excuse the behavior because crime, looting and rioting are not acceptable ways to show that you're upset about something.

Unless they're creating change in those communities daily, they can hardly call themselves "Black leaders"..I agree.

I could delve deeper into this...probably discuss my feelings on it for weeks, but I'm going to end my responses on this thread by saying this; it's easier to say shoulda-woulda-coulda from the outside looking in.

I am impressed that this thread shows differing opinions being heard and no one being "attacked." Seeing that makes me happy lol.

Why isent there riots in Cleveland after that 12 year old kid was shot and killed by more trigger happy cops ? im just after watching the video of it and it seems pretty clear that the cops were on a mission to kill , apparently the cops are saying that they shouted to the kid 3 times to drop the (replica) gun , which is total bulls, hit because they jumped out of the car shooting and barely enough time had passed to warn the poor kid once never mind 3 times

is this murder of a black child a race issue ? i dont know , but it certainly is another trigger happy cop issue , and more proof if proof were needed that a lot of cops in America are are dumb as F,uck and think that they are in some kind of action movie or something smh
