Tell a spooky story thats happened to you...

Mine.....

I was invited to deer hunt with a high school friend on Davis Island south of Vicksburg on the Mississippi River. Its part of the former plantation owned by the Confederate president, Jefferson Davis.
This one particular afternoon, I was told to walk on the top of this "slave levee" to a far woodline that ran perpendicular to it, and find a tree to sit against to watch for deer. This slave levee is abt 20 ft wide and 8-10 ft high and I was told that it was where the slaves that worked the plantation back in the day buried their dead. I say ok and set off while my buddy says hes gonna hunt on the other end of the property....
I sat at the the base of the slave levee til almost dark, and I wont lie. ..I thought abt those dead slaves supposedly buried right behind me quite a bit. As light faded, I decided to get to the top of the levee and slowly ease my way back to camp....hoping to see a deer in the fading light. Right before it was pitch black, I looked ahead abt 100 yards.....and "saw" a dark figure sit up RIGHT out of the top of the slave levee and stand up!! Wth?!?! Then, the figure started walking TOWARD me! There was no "bob" like you wld see with a walking person...the figure seemed to float....and the hair on my neck was standing straight up now......

Turns out, it was my buddy....he made a last minute change of plans and hunted the opposite side of that woodlot and didnt tell me. The "figure sitting up" was just him walking up the side of the levee....and the "floating" was just just him stalking along the top. The fading low light played tricks on my eyes....but the slave levee story didnt help either!! Lol
