Wal-Mart's online
store used 'Fat Girl' as a subcategory for Halloween
costumes designed for plus-sized women.
That's right. This is not a 'Fat Girl' costume. It was
an actual category of costumes on the Wal-Mart
website.
"This never should have been on our site. It is
unacceptable, and we apologize. We are working to
remove it as soon as possible and ensure this never
happens again," Walmart spokesperson told CNBC.
The derogatory label was taken down by 11 a.m. ET
on Monday morning. It was unclear what the
retailer's intentions were for creating the category.

empty "Women's Plus Size Costumes" page""
