I was looking over some firearm violence statistics last night and found this: here in AZ where I am, we have some of the most laxt gun laws in the U.S. I can wear my 44. Revolver in my western holster just about anywhere I go, (some businesses excluded) no special card or permit required. In IL, where I grew up, they have the most restrictive gun laws in the U.S. No concealed weapons permits and forget about wearing one thats visable. Now statistics show 364 gun murders per 100,000 people in IL, as opposed to 232 per 100,000 in AZ last year, highest of all states was CA, with 1,257 per 100,000, and Cali has much stricter laws than AZ. My conclusion? Strict gun laws have no effect on gun crimes!
@Hawkeye58: Well, is a bully gonna pick a fight with Chuck Lidell or Pee Wee Herman? Lol If the average bad guy knows that an individual is armed, he's much more likely to leave him alone. I know that I jus wanna be able to protect myself. There's a tv show I love called Duck Dynasty. In it, the patriarch of the family, who lives in the country, had a great quote will visiting the city..."Here, they have to call 9-1-1. At my house, I AM 9-1-1."
Lol, yeah, I have always known I am my own best 911! And I just feel most bad guys are a little more nervous about doing something wrong, either in someones house or out on the street, if they know the odds of an armed person being around are greater!
