This time of year I'd say buy them boots, thick socks, gloves, a heavy weight sleeping bag
Anytime of the year, clean out your freezer and cabinets, and donate any canned goods or meats your not using to your local shelter.....help many instead of one.
If you hunt, donate a deer to Hunters For the Hungry...several states have chapters, just google them.

A place to sleep..was homeless for 5 years. Never will i take a bed for granted.
