The 2nd Amendment, Gun Control and your views (by MrRamtasticAkaRam318)

Didn't take long for the news agencies to politicize the tragic event in Colorado and turn it into a gun control debate. Was wondering wat ur views were on this issue. Especially interested in the views of people outside the U.S.and how they see our laws concerning firearms. No judgment from me, jus interested in wat u think. Personally, I'm a right to bear arms proponent. I have several guns, even an AR-15...same weapon that was used in the shootings yesterday. I don't think, tho, that a 100 round drum magazine has any use in my life, or anyone elses for that matter. Convince me, if I'm wrong.

Hey ram, well the gun laws have always caused dabate when something like that happens, and me personally i dont like the u.s gun laws but maybe i
hold that view because ive only seen the negative side of the laws, and i dont really know about the positives of it, apart from maybe the personal protection side of it. And trust me ram if we had the u.s gun laws here the troubles in Northern Ireland would still be raging on, and i
personally wouldnt want that.

I myself have a 12 cal shotgun, and have one point to say. Guns dont kill people, people kill people, and they will find ways. Gun laws only keep Law Abiding citizens defenseless against psychos. Thx.

Everybody starts with the right to own a gun. It should be taken away once they use a gun for unlawful purposes

@EbonyRoses119: Oh, I totally agree, but where do we draw the line...100 round magazines, rpg's, mortars, surface to air missiles lol. And @James 85: thanz for ur input. I'm sure its hard for an outsider to comprehend, but us Yanks do adore our freedoms. I personally grew up around firearms, fired my 1st one wen I was abt 6. So many of us, tho, aren't like that anymore. Its a question were gonna hafta face more n more, I'm afraid.

@MrRamtasticAkaRam318: well yeah it is hard to comprehend, i dont know a lot but i do remember that story a while back of a guy getting shot with only a packet of sweets and a can of pop or something. when i heard that story i thought if that happened here there would be trouble for days and weeks afterwards.

That brings up another interesting point. Most gun crimes are committed by convicted felons, who are already not allowed by law to own or possess a firearm. Quite a quandry, don't u think?

People with intent to harm others will always find a way to do so. When they take my right to bear reasonable arms away they will be forcing me to break the law.
