Whilst on this chair (by ramblinman)

I sit on this chair, quiet and alone. I think of all those I knew that are already gone.

My friends used to sit with me, laugh and chat. But now none remain, only the chairs where they sat.

We used to have such times, such great fun. Now those times are over, they are finished, they are done.

So on this chair I sit, their memories dancing in my mind. I yearn to see them again, in a better place and time.

How cruel is life, how bitter this pill. That everyone I love is gone, yet I am here still.

Some day I shall join them, my friends in eternity. But then who will be left here, who will then remember me?

All those who came before me, and those who will come after. We know nothing of each others' dreams, nothing of each others' laughter.

@ramblinman: Bittersweet. But good. I felt like this about 7yrs ago. Then realized, im alive, & their not, for a reason & also for NEW laughter & NEW friends & NEW memories, for those who come after me. :-)

@Zilya777: cool. I haven't really felt that way yet, just kinda put myself mentally in that situation and that's what came out. But I'm glad you found something to look ahead to.
