Arrest parents for overweight kids? (by james85)
Should the police arrest mums and dads who have overweight children? A Norfolk couple have been arrested for child neglect after their 11-year-old son ballooned to 15st. Social services intervened earlier this year but called in the cops after his parents failed to get his weight down. Was that the right thing to do - let’s not forget obesity kills?

I can see how this would endanger the life of a child but arresting the parents seems a little too much. I mean what are the kids at school going to say "hey you couldn't stop stuffing your mouth so your fat ass put your parents in jail"? In all seriousness it's a delicate situation. I remember when I was younger my mother was caught up in being a size zero and her biggest disappointment was me being a little chubby. She'd call me fat and lazy and all sorts of names. It didn't help my self image and the words still sick with me today......
14 lbs/stone thanks. That is a lot but what is the child's height?
