I've had a few in my life, sometimes it works. If you are close friends you shouldn't try it because someone is going to get hurt and you will lose a close friend. If you decide to be fwb with someone you know but not close it it can work as long as you are both willing to just have sex. Also its best if you two are only having sex with each other and no one else.
