Don't say no? (by james85)
I want to hear what you think of so-called Yes Parenting, where parents never say No to their kids in the belief they’ll learn from their own mistakes. If they want ice cream for breakfast, bedtime at midnight, sweets before dinner, no homework, then let them. They’ll figure it out in the end. Is it a brave or foolish parent that attempts such a radical, hands-off approach to child rearing?
I think Its a crock of nonsense it's our job as parents to set limits for kids and that way they learn to set limits for themselves yes they're going to make mistakes and they will learn from those as well butthere are a lot of painful lessons they can avoid and learn be easier way simply because the parents had enough backbone to be a parent rather than a friend
I dont believe in that crap, you go doing **** like that the next thing you do is stick your kid on riddlen because some stupid quack doctor says so and it all comes down stepping up being a freakin parent
Hands off approach is due to pure laziness cuz they always have something better or more important to due I.E...
That isnt parenting, and i have seen three examples as too how those children are once they become adults...the one chopped a hole in his mother's front door with an ax because he wanted a cigarette and she was mean enough to lock her front door, he was 22 at the time...the other young man beleives that his two year old so.n and one year old daughter should be able to get what they need and stop buggin him while he is playing video games while the babies mother work to support all of them...the young woman that i know was raised this way is about to go to jail for three years for theft, and she doesnt see that she has done anything wrong...the parents of these now 25-30 year olds tell me that i am too strict with my children...i may be too strict but i have the hope that my children will become better adults than those three
I don't agree with never saying no, but u do believe some things kids do have to let the learn on their own
What the hell are parents for anyway if your gonna do that ......I'd say that's along the lines of child abuse, child neglect ect. Stupid ppl shouldn't have kids period!
Most of my kids are older but I still have a standing response with them and always have you can hate me now you Will love me later
I believe in letting a child "learn their lesson" but as a parent you have to to teach that child right from wrong or they won't know the difference
I've seen the results of a "yes" parent. It's spoiled, ungrateful, selfish people who care about no one, respect no one and even if you were dying would only care about themselves. It's not a pretty sight.
