"" A
student flashing two knives went on
a stabbing rampage through the
classrooms and halls of a high
school outside Pittsburgh on
Wednesday morning, authorities said. At
least 19 students and a security guard
were hurt, some with life-threatening
injuries.
The suspect, a 16-year-old sophomore,
was in custody and being questioned by
police, authorities said. His motive was
unclear, said Dan Stevens, a Westmoreland
County emergency management
spokesman.
The student was “flashing two knives
around” as he moved through the
classrooms and a first-floor hallway, said
Thomas Seefeld, the Murrysville police
chief. A school security guard handcuffed
the student and suffered a wound to the
stomach, the chief said.
The attack happened at Franklin Regional
High School, in the suburb of Murrysville,
just after doors opened for the day. A
student described panic in the halls .
“I was walking into the school and a
stampede of people were running after me,”
said the student, Kari Lee, who said several
of her friends had been knifed. “They were
screaming, ‘Go to your cars! Go to your
cars! Someone is stabbing people!’”
Seven teenagers and an adult were taken to
Forbes Regional Hospital, Dr. Chris
Kauffman, the trauma director there, told
NBC News. The seven were stabbed in the
chest, back and abdomen, he said. He
characterized some of the injuries as life-
threatening but said everyone was expected
to live.
At least three students were in surgery.
Others were undergoing CT scans and X-
rays and could require surgery later,
Kauffman said.
“None of these are superficial wounds,” he
told reporters. “These are all significant
stabbing wounds, every one.”

See government not just GUNS can be used in school tragedies! Guess a ban on "scary man killing knives" will come next...

But back to the story: that is awful I hope everyone lives, and the kid gets the help he obviously needs

"" The 16-year-old student accused of going on
a stabbing rampage today at a Pennsylvania
high school “wasn’t a real well-liked kid” and
had previously made death threats, the
brother of a witness told ABCNews.com.
The knife-wielding teen, whose name has not
been released by police, is believed to be a
sophomore at Franklin Regional High School,
where the bloodshed happened today.
Stabbing Spree at Pennsylvania High School
Injures 20
“It was pretty common knowledge between all
the kids that he had made some death
threats,” said the source, who graduated from
the school in 2010 and whose sister is a
sophomore there.
“I guess the kids who got the threats just
assumed it’s no big deal," he said, noting his
sister was “about a foot or two” from another
student who was stabbed.
“The kid in front of her started screaming and
she saw a bunch of blood,” he said, recounting
his sister’s story.
At one point, the alleged slasher tackled
another student, said the source, who asked
not to be named.
“He jumped on the kid’s back and was
stabbing him pretty hard,” said the source,
whose sister escaped the school unharmed.
At least 20 people were injured, including
three who were in critical condition this
afternoon, authorities said.
A student who plays hockey with the suspect
told ABC News that the teen was quiet but a
“pretty normal kid.”"
