@aikmamah: Martin Luther King Jr, was responsible for the March on Washington(I Have a Dream speech), bus boycotts, and nonviolent protests. And the woman you're talking about was Rosa Parks.

That poses an interesting question. I've seen civil rights scholars argue that Martin Luther king was only an "organizer" who received more credit than he should. I don't agree with that; I think that he removed a lot of the fear encompassed around the black's fight for equality back then. Yes Rosa Parks died a while back, but she definitely wasn't the only black person to challenge the public transportation system back then.
