[Serious] Why do Americans have a live-to-work mentality ?

Most Americans that I know like to eat and be able to pay their bills while having the features for comfort in their spare time. hence work to live.....

People wonder why so many take short cuts on their jobs... Is because they have too many people who need to work rather than having only those that actually do want to work. I respect those who do work but my perception is I myself would try having a job an I get to harshly criticize about not doing a good enough job. You know what I say to that? Find someone who's physically and mentally capable to work who actually wants to. It's hard enough when you have physical and mental limits without wierd bosses taking the joy and meaningfulness out of working when it already sort of feels like intrapment to begin with.. I was born to love life and have fun not to be so miserable I'm on the verge of suicide.
