The whole point is probable cause.....and the 4th amendment.......wld anyone think its ok if law enforcement started entering every home searching for, say, cocaine? No...., hell wld be raised......I have no problem with them seeing a car weaving and then administering a test......but to stop every car they see is ludicrous.

Here they setup roadblocks all the time mostly on weekends, but what gets to me is how they went about saying it was 'voluntary', but was still forced to do it and why did the offer 10$ for cheek swabs and 50$ to take blood? i dont understand that

The money was used as an incentive to take the survey that the fed govt agency was conducting...the problem is tht they used local police to help adninister the roadblocks......and thats where the voluntary bs comes into play. Several States say that if u recieve a drivers license, you automatically have to submit to a test ANYTIME a law enforcement officer asks......and THAT is bs to me....here in Louisiana, your vehicle is considered an extension of your home......and in my mind, probable cause shld be needed to administer any test...not a damn roadblock.

Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me

I think its a way for municipalities to make money.....they circumvent the 4th amendment under the guise of taking drunk drivers off the road....while writing tickets for any damn lil thing they can find at these roadblocks.

I live in the metroplex. Dallas, Fort Worth area. The police here do whatever they want. Texas is a police governed state. It didnt used to be.
