Don't judge! (by IrishLove1988)

I was reading some things online today and got very upset. I don't understand why people judge something that they can not understand! It makes me so sad to see people go through life hating themselves because narrow minded people judge them, or put them down for things they can not control. It truly just breaks my heart. I am proud of who I am, through and through. Not every one is as lucky as I am, to feel that way about themselves. If you don't understand something, just keep your dam mouth shut! I have PKU, have had it since the day I was born. Not many people know about it, and even less understand what it means. Even with that, I am still so proud of who I am, and who I have grown into... Don't judge before you understand... :'-(

PKU (Phenylketonuria) Is a genetic disorder, Rainbow. It's a mutated gene that causes people who have it not be able to process Protein or anything containing Phenylalanine (A protein product often found in diet/sugar free products.) A build-up of Phe cancause Mental retardation, Nuerological disorders and Behavioral issues. People with PKU also often suffer through life with an awkward body smell, due to the build up oh PHE and other proteins. 1 in 15,000 children are born with it, YEARLY, in the US alone.

People who judge others are usually very ignorant and lacking self esteem, they lash out because they are unhappy with something within themselves and just don't understand the differences in the world and nor are interested in learning.

I understand completely, I have been judged most of my life for being bigger... wasn't until I was 17 that I found out I had a medical condition (PCOS) that was the cause of most of my issues... but people still automatically assume my issue is that I love McDonalds (for the record, I hate Micky D's) when in reality my issue is that I have a hard time losing weight once I put it on... So yeah people judge and it sucks, I have reached the point where I could careless what others think of me... I am me, no matter what I weigh.
You are a beautiful person, inside and out and I hope you don't let the negativity bring you down: keep smiling :)
and also, moments where someone says something negative are also moments where you can educate them on the truth... as best as they will listen :)

Heik: No meds anymore thankfully. It can be managed now by keeping an extremely low protein diet, and making sure my vitamin levels stay within the normal range. @mrb: I was diagnosed at 17 with PCOS So I know exactly what you're going through girl. I don't let what others say effect me or the way I see myself. My problem is that some people are not as confident in themselves as I am, and when people are so negative it breaks my heart. I wasn't always so comfortable with myself. I got teased a lot in school, so I always have had a soft spot in my heart for people who get teased.

Most male bullies have VTPS (very tiny penis syndrome) and deserve to be kicked there repeatedly....
