Book v film (by chunkymonkey67)
Do you prefer to read a book or watch a film based on the book, sometimes the book is better than the film and vice versa, which do you favour and have you been let down by a film based on a book
@chunkymonkey67: A book, most definitely. Years ago, I read Jaws & ET. But paying to see there in a theather.... Big disapointment. Since then, usually the book first. The "Millinium" triolgy. Was great. And the Swenden movies from it. But the American version of " the girl with a dragon tatoo" Was American.... & so very different what the writer wrote... That I hated it.
@Zilya777: read the jaws book and have to agree, more detail in the book than the film, still didn't have a bath for a week or two after the film though lol
I rarely read books and when i do i hardly ever finish them . So i much prefer watching a film . Cuz it takes much less effort :p . I did listen to the audio book for world war z though before watching the film . But they were so different that you cant really compare the two and say which one is better
Hmm i prefer to read books, ive tried to read twilight series and harry potter before and books are much better than movie. juz saying.
There is more "detail" in a book. And books are more focused on "Charater Studies/Personaities" Where as American "Hollywood " movies are (admittedly) geared to a 25 yr old. Ugh.... So less story, more special effects, more skin, sex, violence, music. So im a big fan of books, & Non-American movies. (& TV shows ) I want the truth or a story, not FLASH. And deffinitely adults acting like real life adults.
Book, hands down! Take kids to Barns and Noble, have a coffee, they get to get a few books, and I get to relax!
Heck I like both. I'm a huge movie buff but I also love curling up with a good book... Except porn. I'd rather watch that.
