Not me....there is a genuine need for foodstamps. Personally I don't know what I wld have done without them during one period of my life. That doesn't alter my opinion that there should be some common sense applied to distribute them to those in genuine need, NOT to those that have other options that require personal responsibility and therefore are rejected!
So true, I agree with you LaDawn very well said!

Why is there a cute baby banner ad one minute on my screen and then it's a bisexual dating ad the next?... I know this is off topic but it's disturbing and I had to vent somewhere.

@Briteeyes: Just throwing it out there that in the few months i had foodstamps while homeless, a lot of healthy stuff was covered! Fresh fruit and veggies were the majority of what i used the card on

@KhaosKitten: Yes u can purchase it, but here you cant buy it in bulk to save money. So instead of 3.99 for a bag of 20 apples u gotta buy them seperately at 49 cents each...just an example...to me thats a waste of money, when u can buy the same thing cheaper.

Wow. well. I agree there needs to be checks and balances to the system.
There are to many people abusing it. Who do NOT need it. I personally know some of those people.
one sticks out to me the most: They had HUD, lived in a WAY nice house, drove a new car, had nice clothing (though I do think she did a lot of secondhand shopping there), she'd go and pay 500$ for her nails and hair to be done every two weeks or so, they got foodstamps AND went around to the local churches for 'help with the bills and food', and I mean she'd go to them all at the same time and ask them all to help and pocket any cash she didn't need. They had the EXPANSIVE cable and internet a and a brand new flat screen, she worked in peoples homes who paid her cash, so she never had to say she was employed. And she said once she brought in about 200 a week from that. Now tell me that isn't abusing the system. I am not saying there is not need for it, but there is more abuse then need. Well, so it appears to me.
IF someone really needed the help: so be it. But most often we have welfare mommas (again if they really need it so be it but most do not) who do nothing to make their or their kids lives better and profit from the system rather then use it as a temporary helping hand. IMO.

I dont think they should do away with it, but i agree with making it stricter on what you can and cannot purchase with EBT, as well as requiring drug screenings

These people having fancy cars and houses...how do they get by with that? Here u have to show proof of where u live...ur bills,..any property..land or vehicle is looked up and counted as cash on hand, checking accounts etc all held against you. So how do these people get around all that? If they have a car in their name it will be found
