Define chatting...is it in private messages? On the forum? Text? Skype? Does he hide it from u? Need more info...

If he keeps it from u when u ask then that's a form of lying to u. If he's honest then I wouldn't worry bout it. When I'm in a relationship I try to keep most contact here in forums so there's no suspicion, but I do answer mail if its appropriate and would NEVER lie or try to keep that from my man

Hmmm... He might not want you to know what he's doing secretly. That's how every gender behave when they want to hide something from their partners especially men/guyz. Just be less suspicious & you'll see how he'll behave.

Come right out and ask him. If y'all are dating u have the right to know. its not being controlling or suspicious, just curious and cautious. He should want to know the same about u
