@WalkSoftly1: To many people breaking their necks to see has always been a problem. Either help clean up or move on is what they always say lol

Ok, Ill help clean up then...I dont smoke but I also dont get all bent outta shape when others do...it just doesnt bother me...I think having smokers smoke outside is good enough...just get downwind of em....on the other hand, Starbucks is a private company and can do what they want....As I stated earlier, too many yuppies there for my taste so I dont go there anyway. And. for the record, a bar w/o smoking isnt really a bar IMO....more pus.sification of 'Merica, if you ask me.

I don't go to Starbucks either...their decision doesn't affect me one bit...just sounds like whining when someone bi*ches when a New law gets passed that don't meet their lifestyle. I'm a non smoker but I didn't pass the law. Could careless about it actually.

Oh my Lord... Outside is outside. The air isn't any cleaner if I'm standing next to the door or a block away. And all you alarmists that freak out when you see me holding a cigarette might want to be aware of how polluted the air is in the parking lot on your way in for your coffee. Or how about that leaf blower or weedeater that has NO emission controls and even burns oil in it's fuel? Oh and Americans certainly enjoy the taxes that come from smokers too. I also find it entertaining that drug stores always have a wide selection of tobacco products.

I know that when they passed a law here in Arizona banning smoking in bars and restaurants several years ago, it put more than a few bars out of business within a short time. that was completely unfair to the bars owners, who should have been given a choice. if the bars owner decided that the loss in profit was justified by letting his non smoking patrons go elsewhere, that should be up to the owner, not the State. if on the other hand, the majority of his customers were non smokers, he could choose to ban smoking from HIS property.

I actually avoid places where smokers are out front. Why? Within seconds of walking through the smoke: I am covered in hives. My older sister is worse, she'll start having breathing issues. No you all shouldn't be pushed far away from a building but I dislike having to walk through a group of you RIGHT by the front door because it DOES affect me. I hang out with some smokers, and so long as they agree to not directly smoke near me (a few feet is fine) or I sit in the car. I have no issue....... but I hate having to walk through the cloud at the front of stores. Because I WILL break out and itch ALL day. 25 ft is too much, but I think there could be a compromise in there somewhere... maybe an area just for you off to the side. Where I wouldn't have to go and could more easly avoid then the front door... just my thoughts.
