A friend and I were talking abt New Orleans, since I live in Louisiana, and he was telling me abt visiting there soon. I jokingly told him to take a bullet proof vest, and when he asked why, I explained, that at one time, NOLA was the murder capital of the U.S., though now that un-envious title now belongs to Chicago. He then kinda changed the subject and asked what I thought cld be done to stop all the violence in places like these. I promptly told him that I didnt really care if they all killed each other off...and w/o letting me explain, he said that the comment was kinda racist. Is it racist? Is it racist, that for generations now, a sub culture has emerged that celebrates violence and idolizes criminals, and as long as they "keep it in the hood", I dont care if they keep killing each other? I did care at one time....Ive been in the projects, helping because of my job, and thought that by showing a little compassion, I cld make a small difference...not today. If being a racist is not caring about a sub group of people who just take, take, take from society, and dont even care about helping themselves, then I guess I am one. I have my own life and my own problems to deal with....so thugs, ya'll keep thuggin it up, just keep that sh!t in the 'hood.....And at no point in my conversation or this thread, did I mention skin color....but I bet at least 90% of the people reading this had a certain color come to mind....hmmm, interesting.

I don't think it was racist. There's all races in them kind of places, there must be something in the water. Either that or they're just morons. If only they had parents like mine, if I'd wore my pants down to my knees and acted like that. I still probilly have trouble sitting down.

Had my buddy watch a youtube video called New Orleans Exposed...filmed in several of NOLAs project...think the scene of a 9ish year old boy rapping abt "killing motha****as, smokin blunts and takin whats mines" mighta swayed him a little...
