When you hear sirens... what goes through your head-besides..RUN?!;) (by Sammy2)

In the distance..a familiar wail-slowly increasing in sound and tempo. The closer it gets, the faster my heart rate-screaming-''God Not Again'' silently inside my head. Louder...closer...I cannot breathe! Are they headed towards my oldest daughters house? Or to the graduation party my youngest is at? Tears begin to fill my eyes at the thought of what could be...then the piercing sirens begin to ebb...quieter, fading, drifting away; along with the pace of my heartbeat...My children are safe-for now. Silence the sirens in my mind...

@Sammy2: i know that feeling or something like it .when i hear on the news theres a serious crash somewhere near where i know my daughters are it just gets me and i have to ring and find out their ok (they get annoyed but i dont care i have to know) nobody wants the heart break of what could be if you know what i mean but they have to grow up and that means you have to let them go and be and do things but it doesnt stop me worrying :) its part of luv for your children they are part of you
