Basicly I think its a like mail order bride thing he will marry her under contract if she ever fails her duties on the contract the marriage is non invoid so they go back to where they came from.

@jamie94lynn: yes I agree with you whole heartedly its not something that should be bought or sold or something someone should just jump into. It is a bond that to people form in due time when two people love each other so much that knowone else will do.
