Kitty question (by Sweetred73)

Just took in a stray today that I bonded with. I think she's about 8-9 months. She's not been indoors much at all. She's not panting anymore so I guess she's not as scared. She flops over 4 me to rub her tummy & purrs when i reach under the bed but won't come out & hasn't touched her food/water all day. Normally she's such a piggy i thought she'd grow a snout! Should I be worried? Friend doesn't think she'll adapt to being indoors.

@Sweetred73: She'll Be Okay, Just Give It A Few Days.

We bonded when she was barely weened I'm the only one she'd let hold her. I wanted her sooner but only just moved to a place I can have pets. Friend wants me to get her fixed right away but i think i should wait at least a couple weeks to get used to the shock of moving?

I would take a ball of yarn having the string long enough for the ball to reach the floor so she can't see your hand then swing it slowly back & forth. This will entice her to 1) come out from under the bed & 2) she will play long enough to get thristy & drink some water. Also maybe if you would put some milk in a small bowl for her to drink. Of course sooner or later you'll need a litter box for her too.

Aww i put one of my teddy bears under the bed a cpl hours ago she's curled up with it. Wish i could get a pic but too dark. Can ya tell I'm nuts about animals? Only "pets" i don't like are my cousins scorpion and tarantula. Her bearded dragon and iguana are cool. Other 2 need 2b sent to a desert far far far away!

Yeah I've already set her in the litter box first thing. Don't have string but teased her with a necklace. She really contemplated playing but no go. I'll keep singing to her and try to get her to play.

@jakemann23: i agree, i've around cats all my life and they have it the hardest with transition. She just needs time and space. Before you i know she'll be running and playing before long. You'll see!

I pulled her out from under my bed and she actually slept on my tummy about 30 min but noisy neighbor spooked her. She somehow got the kitchen cabinet open and is waaay in the back lol
