@JstBeinMe: I don't know or understand what kind of mother would do these things unless deep inside they are hurt and maybe were told these same things in their life. Sometimes they just repeat the cycle of abuse because that is all they know. But if these things were said to you they are TOTALLY wrong every person has value and every person is beautiful and special in their own way, as you are. Don't let someone else's words or pain bring you down...You are BEAUTIFUL:) just being you(:

I think counseling is a good start girl. Don't look at it as a cure. It's not meant to be that, otherwise, you wouldn't have to make much effort along the process. It's meant to help give you tools so that you know better how to deal with your mom and be the woman you want to be and raise the girl you will see mature into a woman. Depending on how receptive you allow yourself to be, it can really help and will be there when you needed most :)

Yes, girl.... I have been there. But, I started realizing that no one else was going to or could change things for me. Only I would be able to do that. In the circumstances I was in with the people I relied on I mean. People sometimes like to see the affects they are having on you. Or, some people will kick an already mangled animal. How can others make you feel good or do better if they are this way? So, in order for the cycle to be broken and for me to deal with the problems (there's no way we can avoid them), you really have to be the stronger person mentally and emotionally. You have to keep working towards bettering yourself. And look, just because you are doing things to better yourself doesn't mean you are doing it for them. You are doing it for yourself and your daughter and your lifestyle. Best thing to do is get up, get out...and you know the rest of that song ;)
