Sigh... yall I gotta tell ya-if you dont get counselling or at least read up on it if your area doesnt have free counselling-you will always be the victim. Seriously they are attracted to women who have been victims in the past-there are red flags you can tell immediately if a person has an abusive personality-if anyone would like to know what some are please inbox me-I know of places nationwide where you can get free counselling also:)And my opinion prison or nuthouse? Depends on how far gone they are-if they have physically lashed out and hurt or killed someone then prison-I believe abusers can reform with counselling and a desire to be a better person-but on the same hand I dont suggest giving an abuser more than one chance to hurt you:)
@mrb89: you are such an insightful lady! You described what I did in the beginning when I left my abuser and had four kids under the age of nine to raise alone! Yes I apologized every time, felt like the worst mom in the world at those times-but I truly wanted to change&my grown children have thanked me for getting us all counselling as they grew up:) Thank you for sharing and you are so right-not all abusers belong in a nuthouse or prison-but remember if you have been a victim you are susceptible to being drawn towards an abusive partner-thats why counselling is so important!:)
@MysticJade: sorry-didnt mean to highjack your thread...lol Im shakin thinkin bout this subject-sorry I had to let it out:)lol
Ive been abused and an abuser, When I was like 19 I wasn't a very good person to my ex-husband. Ill admit that. I studied anger management on my own & fixed everything.. it took 5 years. Now it's RARE for me to get Angry. Either way, there is help for both sides. When abuse it brought up why does everyone think male? Anyway, people need to realize abusers have a mental problem they cannot control (dont make it right) and it CAN be fixed... though most abusers would refuse. I am glad I hated who I was & changed myself, I did it on my own. I allowed abuse from several men after that because I felt bad for them. I tried to help them, needless to say, I learned my lesson there & I am happier than ever single w/ my children.
thank you very much.
obviously this is just a small snippet of my story. I left out the part where I spent years hating him and how I finally came to terms with everything. But that's a story that is far to long to type and would take far to many side trips. lmao.

Ive been there seen all types of abuse nor will i ever again. But there is always help for those that abuse others. And for those that are victims.
