I have played a victim to all as well.... They're all low life scum that make people feel like crap to get their way. That's why you have to learn to turn your back and tell them to kick rocks, a lot easier said then done though.

Opinion in what context? I despise most abusers for not having the fortitude to break what was probably a victim/ abuser cycle and instead perpetuating it forward....

@MysticJade: depends on whether they are emotionally disturbed or just plain mean...

hmm. physical abusers? most defiantly.
Mental and emotional abusers? I think there is a chance they could learn, with treatment like therapy, to not do those things anymore.
-personal story-
my father was emotionally abusive (and mentally) my whole life... he's big thing was stress would set him off and he'd yell over stupid little things. He'd always come to us after all the horrid things he'd yell (one time he went so far as to tell me I was the reason his life was miserable) and apologize saying he was sorry and that he loved us. Now he admits he handled it badly, but I think if at the time, he'd had help to channel his frustration and stress appropriately, he never would have belittled us all and yelled and been the way he was. Horrid as the things he did were, he wouldn't have deserved jail or being put away in a mental institution.
