How can you diagnose if its love and not lust? (by PureGold)

So many times what pple call love is nothing but lust. Saying 'I love u' 100 times, buying of gifts, going outing to have fun etc is not a proof of love. You can't diagnose love by any action bcos it can be pretense. It is d space of time and life's
challenges that u can use to diagnose love. If true, how can u say u love someone u met online, someone you have not even spent time with? Ask yourself this question...am I really in love?
I am totally confused in your thread :/.

You said love can't be diagnosed by action ( buying gifts , outing and saying iloveyou) but can be diagnosed by distance and life challenges yet you are questioning how can anyone feel inlove without physical meeting .

Aren't living from the opposite side of the world and being in a challenge of being away yet remain faithful , loyal and honest and not to mention the cost of long distance calls and hours spent in online communication and adjustment of time difference are challenges that are not easy to surpass in having an online relationship ? And only those who are serious in a relationship are able to have the courage to take the risk .

Love whether in virtual or in real is not easy to " diagnose " if genuine and not only lust . Only time can tell ..

Very good point PureGold. I agree with you. Love grows and Lust happens.

@DRainbowbutterfly: I didn't say it can be diagnosed by distance. Rather I said there must first be a contact and then it grows with time and made strong by life's challenges

lol, yes :) I check profiles as I am posting in conversation to a thread. I like to know who I am chatting with. Anyway, there are no restrictions set on my profile. I removed them a little while ago now.
