No, I just do alot of hunting. I like to hunt deer, squirrel, rabbit, raccoon, quail, dove, geese and duck. If it's eatable, I hunt it. Also use my shotguns to kill snakes and other unwanted animals that come in my yard.

Its people who are crazy in the mind that will do such things as shooting other people . And it plainly states all the do's and dont's when you buy the gun . So that being said yes people SHOULD have guns it just needs to be the right people that can handle one. Remember the PEOPLE RULE and not crazy ones...

if u look at history, most of these idiots were too young to have their own gun and took them from someone else. i.e. lanza's mother owned the guns... legally and even the strictest laws she could have passed. her son is the one who took the guns and shot everyone up. theres no laws to be put in place that can predict the future. these massacres are also happening in places where guns are not permitted anyway. its not like theres all theses gun slingers walkin around armed in the places such as theatres and schools every day. the law abiding citizens who owned the guns in the first place werent the ones who carried out these plans. criminals and murderers will always find a way to obtain the materials they need. in fact one of them was military. look at all the people in the military who ave ptsd... what about the ones who have it and havent come forward... they are issued guns on a daily basis. also, alcohol has caused more deaths than guns... drunk drivers, etc. its just not in the media much because its so common and usually doesnt involve so may people at once. but if ur gonna ban a firearm, u should ban other dangers things such as alcohol. sure there are laws in place for each that currently will hold someone responsible afterward, but just like a gun is harmless in the right hands so is alcohol harmless when moderated properly. i own a 9, my friends all own shotguns or some form of hunting firearm, i grew up around them and i enjoy them out on the range and guess what? the targets we used are outlines of other humans... and im trained in my line of work to shoot to kill. so does that make me a murderer? no. theres no way to absolutely make sure these weapons wont fall into the wrong hands because theres no way to know what these buyers or people around them's state of mind.

I think you should have to take an IQ test and score so hight to be able to own a gun, as well as have a mental evaluation done.
A mental evaluation yes iq no. The problem i see with any of this is you can make it harder for anyone to get a gun. But even if a bad person gets denied he can still get a gun easy and not register through black markets or drug cartels. So no matter what you do they have easy access to them whether we make it harder or not.

@brats52005: thanks! same to u! there are too many out there already anyway to put a stop to it. mental evaluation could be a good idea. however, the process would be so unreal!
