It was a Christmas like any other
toys filled every store
smells of holly and gingerbread
mistletoe on every door

A blanket of snow covered the ground
as he made his way inside
oblivious to the christmas cheer
he remained so mean and snide

but as he looked around the store
trying to find a gift for his wife
he ran into a little girl
who that night would change his life

this little girl was very frail
and required a crutch to walk
he didnt want to hear this crap
still he listened to her talk

she asked him for some food to eat
for a hat, a scarf and gloves
but he didnt even try to help
instead he left her without love

as he left the store to head back home
one of his gifts had blown away
as he chased it he saw the girl
behind the store she lay

still he went on without a thought
and left her laying there

later that night as the news came on
he watched the weather drop
he thought about that little girl
hed seen earlier at the shop

Got in his car and turned the key
went looking through the night
finally he found the girl
but hed have to save her life

see as the temperature steadily dropped
that girl and gotten frostbidden
now as she lay in that hospital bed
he reads a note she has written

God, you see i met a man today
as grumpy as can be
but please bless him anyway
he means too much to me

he didnt know that it was me
that im his little girl
so please give him all your love
and help him through this world

and if i dont see him again
let him know that i love him
fix his heart and bring him joy
i love you, God. Amen

then he folded up the letter
and wrote one of his own
then placed it by the little girl
then turned to go back home

then he heard a whisper
she said i love you Dad
thanks for making my wish come true
this is the best christmas that i had

then he took the little girl
and brought her to his home
they had a merry christmas
and never again did he feel alone

Whimpering,very,very touching.
