Country Boy (by tractorjohn)
Good Morning, the sun has finally risen & it's 30 degrees right now, with the high reaching to the upper 50's today. But at least the wind has calmed down, it's barely blowing at all. I do not know what we will be doing on the farm today but sure my boss has something planned. Hope everybody has a good day...
Hi John :) ..
I'm curious , if the temperature drops to zero ( don't know if it happens over there ) you are still advise to work ? Or how low is the temperature that the boss will allow you to take a break from the farm ?

@DRainbowbutterfly: Well 1st of all unless told not to show up, I have to show up for work 6 days a week rain or shine, cold or hot it doesn't matter. If it's too cold during the winter, we work in the shop with the woodstove burning. There's always something to do on a farm.
Everybody showed up for work today, 2 continued rolling the rice field but almost out of water to keep doing that. My boss & me checked the wheat fields for water standing & found a few spots that needed to be dug out to drain the water. We have a field by 2 churches that nobody attends anymore, so we looked @ that end of the field & seen where somebody began cutting trees down a few days ago and they got stuck had to dig their way out, lucky they didn't get into the wheat field. After that we made a stand for our boom pole so it will be easier to hook up & disconnect from it, then we got to go home about 2pm.
Oh I see.. So, if it is super cold , you do not need to work outside but somewhere where you can keep warm your body . Is my understanding right ?
Curious again LOL, are TenFour and Russell still go with you even in winter time ? Or they like to stay at home & wait for you ?

@DRainbowbutterfly: Your understanding is correct & yes Russell and TenFour show up for work too LOL if I go outside they follow me and everybody here likes Russell & TenFour.
The coyotes are on the prowl this morning, had to shoot in the air a few times more than usually, a sign that winter is almost here.
It has reached the freezing point again this morning. There's some fog right now & I can hear geese flying overhead. I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving Day, seems like just a week ago it was July 4th... I can hardly wait to see what Santa Clause will bring me for Christmas, after all I've been a good boy excecpt for 2 days all year.

Geese are beginning to move in the area. But so far they are landing in last season's rice fields that are flooded for the duck hunters. There has to be a thousand geese in each flock, if they ever do land in wheat field for lunch they'll destory that wheat field within a few hours.
Once again it has reached the freezing point here this morning & only to raise to 58 today. Going to be riding from one wheat field to the next looking for signs of geese landing in them. If I find any signs, then I know it's time to install plan A "Operation Shoo Goose"
