I also do kinda feel like people who are paying would take things a bit more seriously.
Bingo! This is one of the most important aspects of the Premium version that I think is being overlooked since it's not a "direct" feature. What does it say about your intentions here if you are willing to spend your hard-earned money to meet someone? Think about it, anyone can create a free profile, from scammers to trolls to jealous ex-lovers to legitimate love-seekers, so a free account doesn't say much at all about your real intentions here. Only those who are absolutely serious about finding someone will actually spend their own money to increase their chances by upgrading to Premium, so it speaks volumes about their true intentions and how strong they are. All else being equal, a Premium user is more serious about finding their special someone and starting a relationship compared to a free user, and I think that difference will become more and more apparent as more users continue to upgrade. It will -- by its very nature -- become a filter for more serious daters. Now, that does not mean a free user can't be as equally well-intended and serious as a Premium user, it just means that one can only be certain of it with Premium users. That, however, makes all the difference within the context of a dating site where everyone is competing for attention. This is why I fully expect more long-lasting relationships to be formed involving at least one Premium users, than two free users. Again, that does not mean a long-lasting relationship can't be formed between free users, it just means it is more likely when it involves at least one Premium user.

As long as no one is budgeting the Premium along side food and rent, I'm happy. :)

Right now in the process of saving up for my divorce, Andres. Already in the process to get full custody of my kids. Will probably upgrade to Premium when I get everything in order.
