@WalkSoftly: It was "self monitoring". She took her own temp, then went to the hospital herself with a fever.
I hope she didn't stop to see a movie or go buy a snack on the way, or pick up any kids from soccer practice *sarcasm*. But apparently all those things, & more, could of happened.
Therein lies the problem....why were they self monitoring? Seems like another bad move by the CDC. Also, how wld you feel if you had been on that flight? Not to mention, where that particular plane went to after leaving Dallas.

@WalkSoftly: I don't believe the CDC approved the "self monitoring".
I think the hospital did. Easier & cheaper to let 76(?)people go home.
And we wouldn't want to inconvience any doctors or have the media living in the parkinglot ..waiting for updates on 70+ people. **sarcasm*

approved the "self monitoring".
But thats their job....to approve measures to protect the public from disease....you mean they failed?! Imagine that! < Sarcasm lol.

Again, the flight thing....heres something to imagine.....patient gets symptomatic ONE day earlier and spreads Ebola on the plane...those passengers disembark to multiple cities.

We're just guessing she WASNT symptomatic a day earlier and didnt realize it. We'll damn sure find out though.

@WalkSoftly: The flight & the airport terminal. God knows how many people she came in contact with. And these days, wording is very tricky, & deceiving... Ex: how & who is defining " contact " ?

Since these is spread thru bodily fluids...
Blood
Urine
Feces
Semen
Vaginal fluid
Saliva
Musus

And a few days ago, as far as the hasmat suits... That they can't touch their face or the openings ((what doctors refer to as the triangle of death).

Then how many objects did she touch, from her car to the airport, boarding the plane etc..
Anyone who was even in that area, is in danger. From a cleaner crew, to the parking lot attendent.

Latest....

"" CLEVELAND, Ohio-- The Ebola patient who
traveled on a flight to Cleveland to visit
family in Akron after being exposed to the
virus should not have been allowed on a
commercial airline, according to the Centers
for Disease Control.
CDC director Tom Frieden said during a
conference call this afternoon that all the
healthcare workers being monitored in
Dallas should only have been allowed
"controlled movement ," that is, travel by
charter plane or private car, in order to
avoid potentially exposing others to the
Ebola virus. People with Ebola exposure are
also supposed to notify authorities of their
travel within 21 days.
It's unclear if the nurse, who got on a plane
in Dallas to Cleveland several days ago, did
not know of these requirements.
The nurse, who has been identified by
family as Amber Joy Vinson, had a low-
grade fever of 99 degrees while on a
Frontier flight from Dallas to Cleveland on
Oct. 13th, which is below the threshold of
100.5 degrees which may indicate that a
patient is contagious or becoming ill with
Ebola, Frieden said. She did not have any
nausea, vomiting or other symptoms that
would have put others on the flight at risk.""

A bit off topic but.. Ebola is really affecting the stock market, which affects everyone..and it is the worst week in 2 years.
The Euro market closed
early, with the Dow
dropping 450 points -%2
Since mid morning the "transport " stock (Wall St
has also dropped, %2.
Due to Americans now afraid to travel by plane, for fear of Ebola.

*why didn't we close our borders? This is why, cha ching $ *
