Went through this with my ex GF's daughter a few years ago. Got so bad we ended up recording them to show how bad they were and took her to a pediatrition. She pretty much said the tantrums would continue until they stopped working. That when it happened we had to put her where she couldn't hurt herself and not even look at her until she quieted down. Then after pay her attention.
