Its ridiculous. My family legally disowned me for a choice i made and we dont ever cross paths. That should be enough. Thank god they didnt think to kill me

I believe in "An eye for an eye; Tooth for a tooth". If I were to have to kill someone of my own family just because they brought shame to our name, I'd have to be killed to-for bringing on pain of those who loved the person i killed. I couldnt live with myself if i killed someone-anyone. Although, i DO believe that criminals should be prosecuted with the same thought of "eye for eye...". EXAMPLE: A man is charged with murder. --He gets the death penalty. EXAMPLE: A man/woman gets charged with child molestaion/rape. He/she is punished by getting their d**k and balls chopped off/ovaries removed and vagina sewed shut.

I believe any thing can be forgiven and the only reason people started so called honor killings was to shut up the busy body neighbours who stuck their nose in everybody's business. So the real question that they should have asked themselves is whats more important your family or the neighbours and public opinion. I think if they chose the neighbours and public opinion they didn't have much honor in the first place.

I'm of the belief the only circumstance that calls for taking a life is if you are defending you own against someone intent on taking your life and only as a last resort if no other solutions can be utilized. Any other reason for killing is not morally justified. This is purely my opinion.

@JLaDawn: mostly crimes such as rape incest or unjustified murder. In my mind at least. This is just my opinion.

No i dont not beleive its honorable to kill a family member or any other person. Laws were made to handle and dish out punishment for crimes such as rape, murder, stealing and whatever i cant think of to name. When they dishonor themselves thats to them but if it was family i would be disappointed and let them pay for their crimes.

I am Asian and even in today's modern society , still there are elders who believe that dignity = life . There are still practices in Asia that when one member brought shame according to what society / religion dictates then she is not worth to live . I term she because women in some country are considered " goods " and not treated equally.. I truly condemn such practices

Edit : thanks to Barry .. I was confused between the correct usage of " condone & condemn " :( ...
