@ramrod007: We deffinity don't use the Queen's English. Here pronunciation, diction & not using slang.. Is an education & class issue. :-)
We even had a government program here, which was closed recently ( 1-2 mo ago), to teach people not to use Southern slang & to weed out all Southern dialects. ( We have a few kinds) . But so many people screamed discrimination, that the Government shut the program down.
But we are, most definitely judged by our speech.

@Zilya777: tell me about it! I grew up in the Philippines and a few different places in the south, but all my family on my dad's side are up north, and on my mom's side in Louisiana. So my d@mn accent is a hodgepodge from all over. It can be disconcerting when you first meet me, I'm told.
