@Brighteyes1211: You don't have to be jealous, just pack your bags get in your car & come on. They have 2 flea markets/swap meets every weekend in Pine Bluff & they're only less than 30 minutes from where I live

04/01/12 @ 6:30am We usually do not work on Sundays, got to give the dirt clods a break LOL. So today I plan on going to the Flea Markets in Pine Bluff just to look around. I need to go the the part store to buy windshield wipers, air filter, plugs & wires plus a new battery with cables too for my car. Yesterday on the farm I finally finshed preparing the rice fields, no I'm wrong still got 2 more fields left to go. Tuesday there is a 50 percent chance of rain, if it doesn't rain we may begin planting rice by Wednesday. The wheat is looking good, has a pretty green color & beginning to show signs of it ready to produce a crop which could be ready for harvest sometime in May. I hope everybody who's reading this has a nice day... Happy April Fool's Day

@Trisha777: How was your Weekend? Mine was okay, didn't do anything had to work till 7pm Saturday nite & after 10 hours of driving a tractor over rough ground really don't feel like driving any where else so I just stayed home & watch college basketball then some movies on TV till I fell asleep. Then this morning I looked at your FB photos, they are very nice. I need to post some more on there myself & hopefully you'll like them as much as I like your's. Well have a Rice Day

04/02/12 @ 07:00pm: I finally finshed the last of the rice fields at noon today then I started in the soybean fields. I seen a snake for the first time this year, it was a black Chicken Snake & it crawled away from the tractor really fast. I didn't try to run him over because they eat the rats and field mice. Tomorrow there is a 50 percent chance of rain & it looks like it could sprinkle rain right now.

@Brighteyes1211: No I didn't buy anything at the flea market but there were alot of people at both places this weekend. The indoor flea market has more house products & I sure liked a few of the living room and bedroom suites. I'm glad you like the pictures, I'll try to send you some more soon.

04/03/12 07:00pm Well it rained on & off today more expected tonight but it doesn't look like it will to me. I finshed 2 small 40 acre soybean fields today & started in a 120 acre soybean field this afternoon if it rains alot tonight may not be able to finish it tomorrow. The wheat fields are really tall & has a pretty green color to it, just hope the Army Ants & Grasshoppers stay out of the fields this year. Last year had to spray posion on the fields twice because of those insects. Hope everybody has a Great Night

04/04/12 @ 07:45pm We began at noon planting rice today, may have planted about 150 acres. It went as smooth as silk with no brake downs. I saw 3 coyotes this morning and a hawk follwed me around to chase down the field mice. Boy what work of art the hawk was, swooping down & snagging a mice without a single miss.

Gotta say, TractorJohn, love the blog. Kinda reminds me of my grand dad in a way. He grew up, and owned a way smaller farm (abt 40 acres) in the early 1900's. Course, his nearest neighbor was 40 acres away, and theirs was 40acres away and so forth n so on. Way different time than now, but I suppose the peace and quiet and hard work were similar. Its nice to know that there are still places in this country that the past still kind of exists. Thanx
